Among The Oaks Blog Post Submissions
We are excited to announce Dorland’s new collaborative blog, Among The Oaks, now open for submissions. Among The Oaks offers a space to share your voice, work, and experiences with the broader Dorland community.
Submissions
- We encourage a wide range of submissions. You might share an excerpt from your book or project you are working on (please include an intro with excerpts), reflect on your recent or past experience at Dorland, or explore ideas sparked during your time here. If you have photos to share, please do.
- Blog posts should be at least 600 words to allow for depth and substance, and no longer than 1,200 words.
- Proofread carefully before submitting. Only light editing will be done if necessary; submissions that require extensive corrections will be returned or declined.
- All links included in your post must be embedded as hyperlinks within the text.
We also welcome recent news about your art or writing—such as exhibitions, publications, awards, or projects. Among the Oaks is not to replace your news submissions to our quarterly newsletter. Both can help you get the word out about your artistic work.
What's The Difference?
Quarterly Newsletter
We send out an email reminding you to submit your news every quarter. Your news goes straight to an engaged audience of 3,500+ readers—and they actually click the links. This is a straightforward, and easy way to share your news.
Among The Oaks Blog
Submit your content anytime. Submit photos, excerpts, reflections, process notes, or inspiration from your stay. It's a great way to share and connect with the broader Dorland community and beyond.
We’ll promote the blog in our newsletters, on our website and on social media to help your work or message reach even more readers. Above all, we hope this blog feels like an open, creative exchange—an opportunity to connect, reflect, and share work.
