Chad Lange

Chad Mihael Lange is a San Francisco-based fiction writer who has an MFA in Creative Writing from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California. He has received two residencies at MacDowell and Millay Arts and several residencies at Dorland Mountain Arts. The Jentel Foundation, The Ragdale Foundation, Hambidge Center, and Craigardan have also given him fellowships. In May 2025, Lange was accepted into an advance fiction workshop facilitated by Pulitzer Prize finalist Tommy Orange. He has been awarded grants from the Squaw Valley Community of Writers and the California Arts Council (to teach creative writing to LGBTQIA+ youth). His short fiction has appeared in Catamaran, fourteen hills, and ZYZZYVA.
