Hannah Keefe is a visual artist known primarily for her one of a kind and limited edition hand-made jewelry pieces. For the past 2 decades Hannah has kept a rigorous studio practice concentrated around her material exploration using brass chain and silver solder. Her jewelry is shown and sold at galleries and boutiques around the world. With an educational background in the fine arts and years working in the visual arts, Hannah approaches her studio jewelry making as an exploration. Her designs come out trial and error and her inspirations are various. Her intention is to constantly evolve and develop new visual vocabularies. Though best known as a metalsmith Hannah’s interests extend into various other mediums, projects which tend to get sidelined with a demanding production schedule. Hannah has a secondary body of work that she would like to give her full attention to and feels like nothing other than an incubation time at Dorland will give her new project its due focus. This project is a time intensive collage process that she has been developing for the past few years. The goal is to devote her time at Dorland to bring this body of work into a new stage and complete a group of works that are planned or are in progress.
