Jill Dawson

Jill Dawson is the author of twelve novels.   These include Fred and Edie, short-listed for the IMPAC, the Women’s Prize and the Whitbread Award and The Crime Writer about Patricia Highsmith, which won the East Anglian Book of the Year. In addition, she is the editor of six collections of short stories and poetry.  She has won national and international awards for poetry, short stories, and novels.   Jill has taught Creative Writing for a number of years in the UK and USA, including Amherst College and the University of East Anglia. She founded Gold Dust, a mentoring scheme which pairs new writers with established ones.   Her new novel, Pixie, about the early 20th century life of the Tarot artist Pamela Colman Smith, will be published by Bloomsbury in 2026.
