A Los-Angeles based artist, Lynette K. Henderson is Professor Emeritus of Art Education, and a visual artist in painting and mixed media. She has a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1986), MFA from the University of Minnesota (1989), and a Ph.D. in Art Education from Arizona State University (2006). Henderson recently completed an awarded residency (Spring, 2025) for art and science at Playa Summerlake in Oregon, and a residency in northern Italy (Fall, 2024) at the RUC. She had two recent solo exhibitions at The Artist’s Gallery (TAG; 2024 and 2025), and participates in approximately 25 group exhibitions annually, national and international. Group exhibitions in 2024-2025 include venues such as the Brinton Art Museum (Wyoming), Yellowstone Art Museum (Montana), D'Art Center (Virginia), Brea Gallery (California), Kellogg University Art Gallery, (California), LSU School of Medicine (Louisiana), and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Japan), to name a few. Henderson is also a member of various professional arts organizations including Ecoartspace.org, International Association of Art USA (IAA), National Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA), Shoebox Arts.org, Los Angeles Artist’s Association (laaa.org) and Studio Channel Islands.org.
