Michelle Goering, a writer, editor, and musician, is passionate about the power of words to connect and transform. Her business, Michelle Goering Editing and Writing Service, launched in 2024, provides line editing, publishing advice, and proofreading to individuals and non-profit companies, and articles for publication. Michelle’s career in exhibits, publicity, direct mail, and special projects in Yale University Press’s marketing department spanned a decade. She shifted to devote years to parenting twin sons, one with special needs, and community-building work, holding several administrative positions in her local Bahá’í community. She published one collection of essays, stories, and poetry titled Bird, Watching, in 2024, and has two other manuscripts in process: a collection of essays, and a memoir. A city dweller of four decades, she grew up in a Mennonite community on a Kansas farm. She lives in San Diego with her family and plays too many word games every morning.
