Susanna Knittel’s career as a filmmaker, writer and photo journalist spans 40 years in Europe and in the United States. Upon arriving in America, she directed the first short documentary on the "Bohemian Grove," as well as “Homeless" while working with Video West. She also produced and directed "The Legacy: Tale of Life After Death" premiered at San Francisco Film Festival. She was Robert Frank's assistant on "This Song for Jack.” In 2015, "Falling for the Mountain" premiered at Wild and Scenic Film Festival. "The Last Vaquero on Tassajara Road, a Regret" is an experimental short from 2017. Her latest film “drumming bodies dancing” now in festivals, was filmed in Senegal with her Senegalese friends, the Sabar dancers and drummers. Her essays have been published by "Grantmakers in the Arts" and "Psychological Perspectives, a Journal of global consciousness integrating psyche soul and nature."
