Steve Staudenmeir began painting watercolor when he retired after a successful career in information technology management and consulting. Painting was something he had always wanted to do but never had the time. He found inspiration in drawings done by his artistic Grandmother and wondered if he might have some of her talent. He picked flowers to begin with because he enjoyed the shapes and beautiful colors. His focus on flowers allowed him to learn many of the basics of watercolor. From there Steve has branched out into landscapes, city life and animal subjects. He feels fortunate to have received valuable help, support and encouragement from a number of professional artists. He is a student of Richard Stergulz at The Green Art House art school in Fallbrook and he belongs to the Temecula Valley Artists League and the Murrieta Gem of the Valley Art Association. He has received various awards and also sold a number of his paintings and prints.
